Meet Sarah Gallop

Sarah Gallop is a Registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist  #IMF95787. She received her MA in Marital and Family Therapy with an emphasis in Art Therapy from Loyola Marymount University. She received her BA in English from The University of Michigan.  She is supervised by the Licensed Psychologist, Albert Knapp, Psy.D., BCBA-D (PSY 25873).

Sarah uses a strength-based approach to work with both children and adults, addressing barriers and encouraging growth. She has worked with kids at Kayne Eras Exceptional Children’s Foundation, where she often used art making as a tool to provide them with an alternative form of communication, to help them bypass defenses, and to provide a tangible record of change.

Sarah has also worked with adults struggling with a range of mental illnesses and addiction, meeting them where they are to help them grow, thrive, and live their best lives. Most recently, she worked at The People Concern, sometimes using art to help clients address trauma and a variety of other issues and to add meaning and dignity to their lives.

She works within various theoretical orientations including psychodynamic theory, cognitive behavioral therapy, and attachment style theory. She believes in the power of art to uncover truths and to help clients make the changes they’d like to see in their lives.  She truly believes that “you are enough” and that there is nothing wrong with you.  She will meet you where you are and will offer you a safe and authentic space in which to go from there.

Problems can equal opportunities and if approached with an open mind and heart, transitional spaces can be a fertile time for growth. Sarah is creative, compassionate, and unique in her approach to helping you discover your needs, wants and desires.
