Meet Stavros Kavoulakis
Stavros Kavoulakis is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst, BACB #1-14-16110. He received his M.A. in Clinical Psychology from California State University Dominguez Hills (CSUDH) in 2007 and his B.A. in Psychology from the University of California, Irvine (UCI) in 2003. Stavros started valuing community service at a young age. After graduating from UCI, he worked at a group home supervising troubled teenagers then at a non-public school for students with emotional disturbances. While attending CSUDH, he started focusing on working with individuals diagnosed with developmental disabilities including autism, intellectual disability, and PDD NOS. His work consisted of helping individuals and their families access behavior services and other supports and also the direct implementation of applied behavior analysis (ABA).
Stavros comes to Albert Knapp & Associates with a wide range of experience in the practice of ABA, having worked with individuals with various diagnoses ages 2 to 42 since 2006. His experience consists of, but is not limited to, direct behavioral intervention, the supervision of treatment programs, conducting functional behavior assessments, teaching social skills, and attending IEP meetings to assist with academic planning. In particular, Stavros has extensive experience working with individuals who have deficits in communication or who exhibit disruptive, aggressive, and self-injurious behavior.
Professional interests for Stavros include staying current with the trends of Applied Behavior Analysis by attending trainings and conferences. One of his specialized behavior assessments was recently presented at the annual Cal-ABA conference and he was involved in the publication of a social psychology text book during his time at UCI.
