Arease Edison


Dr. Edison is a servant at heart, always looking for an opportunity to serve others. Her passion to teach and her calling to help individuals heal from broken places in their lives have afforded opportunities to work with diverse populations. Dr. Edison knows first-hand the power of a sound-mind and she uses cognitive behavioral and humanistic techniques to help others heal from past experiences and assist others identify what will bring meaning to their lives.

Dr. Edison’s educational accomplishments include a Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Arts with a concentration in Children and Family Studies from Fresno State University; a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology and an earned degree of Doctorate of Education in Counseling Psychology, both from Argosy University. She has worked diligently in the mental health field for over 20-years, populations served include adults, severely emotionally disturbed youth, children in the foster care system, the chronically mentally ill, inmates and parolees.

Dr. Edison has facilitated various workshops for children, young adults, parents, domestic violence victims, inmates, and those battling addictions. She has helped clients identify barriers to goals, increase awareness and see past obstacles. Dr. Edison has also facilitated educational lectures to masters and doctoral level students on counseling skills and self-care for counselors at Antioch University, Los Angeles and Argosy University, Los Angeles. Dr. Edison has also given talks at California State University, Fresno on various social issues within the community. In 2006 she was given the California State University, Fresno Community Service award for over 500 hours provided to the community.

Dr. Edison joins Albert Knapp & Associates as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT 96020) and looks forward to helping children, tweens, teens, adults, couples, and families.
