Meet Peggy Mazzarella


Peggy Mazzarella received her Master of Arts (M.A.) in Educational Psychology from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles. Peggy has 29 years of experience working in public school education as a general education and special education teacher and as a special education program specialist, special education coordinator and director of special education. She has worked in several school districts in the South Bay as well as in north county San Diego. Additionally, she has taught graduate level courses in behavior, instruction, and special education law at California State University, Dominguez Hills and Loyola Marymount University.

Peggy has an extensive background in working with students with disabilities and their families. She has developed and supervised specialized programs serving children with all disabilities ages preschool through adult transition. Her passion and focus have always been to provide students with disabilities the early intervention, individual supports, and inclusive opportunities they need to become independent adults.

Peggy joins Albert Knapp & Associates as a Special Education Consultant/Advocate with the goal of supporting families to work collaboratively with their child’s school to obtain the services and supports to meet their child’s unique needs.
