Meet Rachel Yamada


Rachel is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (#100073) and a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (#1-20-41833). Rachel received her Bachelor of Arts in both Psychology and Sociology at the University of California Santa Barbara. She earned a Master’s Degree in Social Work from California State University Long Beach and a Master’s Degree in Exceptional Student Education with an emphasis in Applied Behavior Analysis from the University of West Florida. Rachel currently works full-time as a school social worker/counselor at a middle school in East Los Angeles. She has previous experience in working with children with autism and providing behavior intervention and supervision for ABA programs.

Rachel is experienced in working with children, adolescents, and teenagers struggling with ADHD, anxiety, depression, behavioral and conduct disorders, selective mutism, autism, and more. She also has strong experience in managing risk and crisis situations and supporting youth through brief treatment. Rachel enjoys building strong positive relationships with her clients and utilizes a strength-based approach when working with clients and their families. Rachel brings a unique blend to her therapeutic style, using elements of ABA and behavioral therapy coupled with more traditional therapeutic modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, motivational interviewing, and play therapy.
