Meet Sandra Gelblicht


Dr. Sandra Gelblicht received her Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.) degree from California Southern University, Costa Mesa in Clinical Psychology. She also holds a Master of Arts degree in Transpersonal Psychology from Sofia University (formerly Institute for Transpersonal Psychology), Palo Alto. Her doctoral research theoretically examined the relationship between the biological, psychological, social and spiritual factors that integrate humanity on individual, collective, and potential otherworldly levels. Other research interests include trauma, multiple dimensions of development throughout the lifespan, resilience, and neurodiversity.

Before moving to California from Arizona in 2017, Dr. Sandra taught psychology at the high school and college levels. She has also provided special education support to students in grades K-12 through mentoring teachers and implementation of direct student interventions. Her administrative roles in education involved providing academic, social, behavioral, emotional and family support to those in need, as well as participation in Individualized Education Plan (IEP) feedback and construction. Additionally, Dr. Sandra worked in the early intervention program creating and facilitating home-based protocols for children from birth to three years of age with special needs and their families to maximize developmental outcomes. Dr. Sandra also has clinical experience providing mental health counseling, crisis response, risk assessment, and group therapy in the county jail. On a more personal note, Dr. Sandra enjoys reading philosophy and all things psychology, and is the proud parent of two children, one of whom is autistic.

Dr. Sandra joins Albert Knapp and Associates as a postdoctoral Psychological Assistant with both  personal and professional experience working with children and teens with special needs. She takes an integrative humanistic, whole-person approach to working with individuals of all ages with a wide variety of challenges and/or goals. She is a member of the American Psychological Association, the California Psychological Association and the Los Angeles County Psychological Association.
